Welcome

It is my firm belief that the educational opportunities at Vineland School District are as good as any in the state.  All of our teachers, except for one, are credentialed.  Never has there been a finding of a shortage of textbooks during a William's Act inspection.  All of our classrooms are connected to the most update technology with smartboards in every classroom.  Over a third of our students participate in after school programs.  Our student accomplishments provide proof of the high quality of education available at Vineland School District.

*Increase of District API scores of 75 points in the last 3 years.

*Some of the hightest physical fitness proficiency scores in Kern County

*Band rating of "Excellence" by the California Music Educators Association

*First place finish in the Area Math Field Day Competition

Along with the accomplishments by our students we commend Louis Yuen for being selected "Kern County Teacher of the Year".  We also thank the community for their support of our new gymnasium which will have its ribbon cutting on Wednesday, 14 January 2009.  Overall, if you want to see how education should work, you should visit Vineland School District.

Vineland School District is located sixteen miles southeast of Bakersfield.  The district has a rich history because of its location next to the Sunset Labor Camp featured in John Steinbeck's "Grapes of Wrath".  The school district is surrounded by  a very active rural economy, home to a large migrant population.
